What steps will reproduce the problem?

User does not have Chromecast or the Chromecast extension
Notices the Chromecast icon in the system tray.
User is not able to disable it using the flag chrome://flags/#disable-cast-streaming-hw-encoding, but was able to get it removed by inserting the command line google-chrome --no-experiments.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Chromecast icon shouldn't show for users who don't have Chromecast. See attached screenshots.

Is this a bug or an experiment that's running for Linux users?

There are no experiments running currently for Cast. The presence of the icon is controlled via the chrome://flags#enable-media-router flag.

I would ask the user to check the value of this flag. If it is set to "Enabled," then the mostly likely explanation is that the user explicitly enabled this feature, in which case the behavior is WAI. If it is set to "Default," the user should see no Cast icon. If they do, then there's definitely something else going on.
