I assume that this is a Chrome OS feature request and that the Chrome OS team is already has work in progress to support more Bluetooth codecs.

Add some folks for viz.
We are aware of the feature request to support more bluetooth codecs. But we don't have commited roadmap yet.

Hello Team,
Please bump this feature request to implement high quality codecs such as aptX HD, aptX Adaptive and LDAC in Chrome OS.
Both macOS and Windows 10 support aptX natively.
Android supports aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive and LDAC natively.
No reasons why they shouldn't be supported also on Chrome OS, *especially* since most of the newly launched tablets with Chrome OS lack a 3.5mm headphone jack, leading users to either use USB-C adapters (inconvenient as they take up a USB-C port just for that, and need to be carried) or Bluetooth headphones (not ideal because of the aforementioned lack of high quality codecs).
Any new insights you can share, please?
Thank you!

Any update yet? There have been a lot of unnessesary updates with features like emoticons or personalization, but supporting modern bleutooth codecs is stil not implemented and seems to have a very low priority.

Hey team, any updates please?
ma...@gmail.com <ma...@gmail.com> #15
Hello Team, really appreciate the hard work you're doing for chromeOS.
I was just wondering if you could confirm any work is being done towards achieving high quality Bluetooth codecs on chromeOS, as more than 1 year has passed since the last update.
Thanks a lot!

Hi Team, any updates on this please?
This is critical in 2024.
ch...@gmail.com <ch...@gmail.com> #18
Still not implemented... a lot of unusfull functions are added, but basicly a high-end bleutooth codec is stil not availble...
Description
Chrome Version : Versie 90.0.4430.215 (Officiële build) (64-bits)
URLs (if applicable) : NA
Other browsers tested: NA
Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you
have tested this issue:
Safari:
Firefox:
Edge:
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Bleutooth audio only support the old SBC protocol. So al new types of headphones have limited audio support and poor audio quality. Not visiable for such a new OS. You should really upgrade to LDAC, AAC and aptx protocols.
What is the expected result?
Good audio quality
What happens instead?
Poor audio quality with headphones.
