I am having the same issue. It was working in Window 8.1 and updating to Win 10, I had no sound. Sound works fine in Firefox and IE.

Hey guys!
I figured it out.
You have to right click on the sound icon in the taskbar.
Click on Open Volume Mixer.
The Chrome Icon should have no sound whatsoever according to the bar.
Adjust it to your needs and it will never do it again!
Hope this helps!

I have the same problem -- no sound in Chrome after Windows 10 update. When I open the volume mixer on the audio icon on the bottom right tray, it shows sound control for Speakers, System Sounds and STEAM; Chrome is not shown.

I have same problem https://crbug.com/chromium/529076#c22 states.
Sound with other browsers, but not with Chrome. This is a new problem and Asus computer came with Windows 10 and purchased in Dec 2015.
Same issue: open volume mixer on audio icon tray, shows sound control for Speaker and System Sounds.
>>>Very strange, while I was typing my comment, all of a sudden the Chrome also was displayed with a muted sound icon. Unmuted and tested youtube video...it worked.

I've been using Windows 10 and Chrome since 10 came out. However, with the recent Windows 10 upgrade, I have no sound in Chrome. I do have computer sound. I do have sound in IE/Edge...but I really hate IE. Please fix this.

Been running Windows 10 for over a year. A few weeks ago the sound stopped working. I uninstalled Chrome and then reinstalled Chrome. It work for a day or two then stopped again. Tried it incognito. Doesn't work there either. Works fine on Edge, Maxthon, and canary.
Please fix this. I like Chrome and prefer it way more than other browsers

Hi Dale. Is there any info that users could supply to help investigate this? Do you know who would be a good owner? Thanks.
da...@chromium.org <da...@chromium.org> #33
Reports above say it works on canary, I wonder about dev or beta. Grabbing the contents of chrome://media-internals would be helpful. I suspect it might be related to a hung audio thread and some of olka@'s recent changes helped.

Everyone experiencing this issue: please send in the contents of chrome://media-internals as per https://crbug.com/chromium/529076#c32 . Thanks.

Hi!
I add a similar issue with Windows 7 and, in my case, the issue was all about having muted sound just for Chrome (don't ask why did it got muted ...).
I found a video explain the issue:

Cheers,

Ditto! A friend recently purchased a new Asus gaming box. Audio is available from every other browser. Only Google Chrome has no audio from any source (YouTube, Pandora, etc.). Asus gaming box is running Windows 10. Audio is available from Windows Media Player.

My computer will not allow sound to work with Google chrome only with internet explorer. Very frustrating. Please help.
ch...@gmail.com <ch...@gmail.com> #44
I lost sound from Chrome a couple of months ago. This was several months after I'd installed Windows 10. The odd thing is, every once in a while I get sound for a single video. But then the next video won't have it again. So for me, sound doesn't work about 98% of the time.
I'll also note that when there's no sound, the tab doesn't show the little sound icon. It's as though Chrome doesn't even know there should be sound.

Same here, can't get sound on facebook, youtube and other sites.
da...@chromium.org <da...@chromium.org> #46
Hi this is a fairly old issue; if you're experiencing no sound more recently, please create a new bug with details about your chrome version and OS. See comment c#34 to see if Chrome is just accidentally muted.
